@mkag I bought my 76' vette when I was 15. Let me say that again, *I* bought MY 76 vette when I was 15. Drove hell out of it until I turned 20 and sold it. I've always loved the stringrays, but groceries don't fit too well in them and 12 mpg isn't very practical. Maybe in 20 more years I'll have the money for a weekender only Vet. Here is my first really big project.(before I build my real dune buggy) Its a custom build twin engine monster truck, totally made from the highest quality 7075 aluminum. powered by two XTM 24-7 pro engines (over 2,5 hp each). The acceleration is sick as you can see in this video. I built it 2003-2004 when I was 16 years old. Total cost 30 000 SEK or $4000

@shadowblack1987 Not the ones that buy here;-) We're happy to build anything though. Surprisingly enough, professionals really don't buy anywhere as they pretty much ride what their sponsors give them. We're busier than we've ever been and I don't think we've sold anything but steel frames for the last 2 years. Maybe we're seeing a resurgence of steel? Maybe most people don't want to buy a Formula 1 race car as a daily driver? I don't know....you should try our s3.... Thanks for posting.

We built carbon fiber frames from 1975 until 1989 or so. Steel has really taken over our main business, but we still work in aluminum and titanium. Steel has really surged over the last few years as we can build a bike that is as light or lighter than carbon or ti, and rides better than carbon. You can read an article that I wrote about frame materials in the Tech Talk section of our articles on rodcycle.com

I assume RHD means right-hand-drive. We dont show those cars because we haven't had any to show. Those were all shipped out of the US, since we use left-hand drive. We do have an RHD that is in the shop now, a car from New Zealand, that will be on the web-site next month.

This particular car handles as well as most early 50's cars. Its a big, heavy car riding on 50's chassis and suspension. Compared to today's cars, it handles like a city bus. But then it was not designed for driving fast. It was designed for comfort.

well this is also from a guy who said a friend of his had a cobra with a muncie 5 speed with a hydralic pump that shifted it automatically so fast that he couldnt reach up to the dash to grab a dollar bill because of the force...the guy was completely full of shit...i talked to my auto shop professor and he said that the way the merlin engine worked there was no way it could power the car...i dunno...stupid idea anyway...

The enngine bay is big, but I doubt a v-12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine would fit without major modifications... but it might be doable. Of course, the torque that motor produces would twist it like a pretzel.

@MrMiguelSR1 572 is the largest crate you can order from chevy, but many suppliers and aftermarket companies offer custom cranks that can easily reach 632 ci. (4.6" bore x 4.75" stroke). I'd say this engine is likely the product of a custom fabrication shop that crafts most of their own internal parts. The only limitation after boring it out is really is how much extra stroke they can cram into a BBC and have it remain in 1 piece.

@shreddy412 - Sorry,,that's nonsense. I don't know what kind of strats you have but, a proper Custom Shop Stratocaster is just above perfect. I have two of them actually which are signature guitars: 1 Robin Trower and 2 Eric Johnson and they are " I repeat " PERFECT...... So, instead to add $200 onto the budget for repairs, just buy a proper instrument in the first place and then forget about the rest. Just enjoy the feeling and the playing!

They really are gorgeous instruments. I have a forerunner of this, a 2000 example, similar appearance to the one inthe vid, mine however is up-specced, has a more figured body and a heavily birdseye-ed neck & headstock. Tone is just enormous (think Mayer) and the thing just RINGS. They really are very different and alot better than regular US Strats - which are already very good themselves. Try one, you'll be converted.

Fender uses green wood. Which means your neck is going to shrink. I own two Americans and they had to spend way to much time in the shop. One had the crasiest rising tongue I've ever seen. Love that Strat feel and sound but I hate paying that much money for a guitar that is going to need significant fret work. Add $200 to the cost of any strat cause the frets will need a dressing. I'd like to buy more but not untill the quality of fretwork improves. Sorry.

I have never played the custom classic, but I did look up and compare the specs. It seems to me that the main difference besides the pick-ups would be in the quality of wood used on the necks and the shape of the neck. The custom deluxe has a highly figured grain and from actually playing it a little more bulky cshaped neck than a modern c shaped neck. The guitar mentioned here costs around $1000 more than the one you mentioned. You would have to compare them yourself to see if this is worth it.

Thanks for a great tutorial, always took my photos with either aperture priority or manual but never looked (yeah i know lol) at the wb so much but it makes the panorama pictures a lot better to be able to control shutter speed and aperture and last not the least (most important) white balance.

@12345678ix Izzy from GNR played(s) Vox amps ..Marshall's are usually used by Ozzy's guitarists, but the newest has Blackstar, which you could most likely get at least some of the tones from all the guitarists. Honestly, I didn't care for their tone, but that's my opinion - plus you could always get Zakk Wyldes O.D pedal anyway. Pink Floyd tone, you could probably easily get with a Vox & as far as Van Halen, you could do fine here - just get some pedals and eddies sig pedals. Done deal!

@12345678ix You're asking a lot of one single amp. The vox ac30 should come close though, especialy if you get a booster/od pedal for those hardrock tones. The cleans of the Marshall jcm's are just horrible. A 50watt 'old school' Marshall might work too I guess (1987x, 2160x, jtm45,...). You'd also need a pedal for Slash type of tones though...

Im guessing that the ac30 and the ac15 are both identical in tone just that the ac30 is louder because of the second speaker and some diffrent features that could give you a diffrent tone. So that why i assume they didnt demo the ac15.

@0S7VN0 The most common fabric used is fleece or cotton, like t-shirt fabric. Can get a cheap roll at sewing supply stores or even wal-mart. The liquid applied over the stretched fabric is resin, can be found at any autobody supply store or hardware store. The putty is fiberglass bondo, Sanding after each application of any putty filler or bondo for smoother surface. Evercoat is a brand name, any body filler/putty will work. Lot of sanding. Then primer then wax and grease remover before painting

Thanks alot great vid btw just a few questions to help everyone out: What was the fabric you put over the box at 1:25? What was that liquid you applied with the brush at 1:52? What was that putty you applied around the nailed areas at 2:37? Did you further sand the box after applying the putty? Is Evercoat the name of the brand or the type of product at 2:48? Was the first coat of paint a primer? After scuffing what type of cleaning solution did you use?
